The West has a deep supply of well-trained ranch, trail, and family horses. The Midwest has buyers searching for those horses, but far fewer of them are available locally.
What Western Horse Connection Does for You
You keep doing what you do best: producing good horses. We help connect those horses with another qualified market.
Higher-Value Market
We introduce your horses to Midwest buyers who may place greater value on the training and experience your horses already have.
Qualified Buyers
We screen prospective buyers before bringing them to you, so your time is spent with serious people who may actually be a fit for the horse.
Good Homes
We work to understand the buyer, the horse, and the intended use so that a successful transaction is also the beginning of a good match.
Less Work
We help with buyer communication, qualification, presentation, and coordination so you spend less time answering inquiries that go nowhere.
A Good Horse Still Needs the Right Market.
Producing a useful horse takes years. Selling one can still mean dozens of messages, tire kickers, mismatched buyers, and negotiations with people who do not understand what went into the horse.
Western Horse Connection is designed to create another path. We build relationships with Midwest buyers searching for safe, useful, well-trained horses and connect the right buyers directly with trusted western sellers.
We are especially interested in horses that are:
- Well trained and honestly represented
- Experienced outside an arena
- Useful for ranch, trail, family, or recreational riding
- Safe and sensible for their stated rider level
- Good to handle, load, haul, and manage
- The kind of horse you are comfortable putting your reputation behind
How the Seller Network Works
Join the Network
Tell us about your operation, the horses you produce, and the types of buyers who are a good fit for them. There is no fee to join.
We Find the Opportunity
When we have a qualified Midwest buyer whose needs match one of your horses, we contact you and determine whether the horse is still available.
Agree Before Moving Forward
Before the transaction proceeds, we agree in writing on your expected return and Western Horse Connection’s fee. Nothing is left ambiguous.
We Are Building a Network of Sellers We Know and Trust.
Western Horse Connection is not intended to become another place where anyone can upload a horse and hope somebody calls.
The value is in the network: credible western sellers, qualified Midwest buyers, better information, and a connection built around finding the right horse for the right person.
Over time, Preferred Seller Partners may also qualify for established fee arrangements rather than renegotiating the business terms horse by horse.
No Membership Fee. No Surprise Commission.
There is no fee to become part of the Western Horse Connection seller network.
When we identify a qualified buyer, we agree with you in writing on your expected return and Western Horse Connection’s fee before the transaction proceeds.
You remain free to sell the horse to anyone. If the horse is sold or otherwise becomes unavailable, simply let us know. No Western Horse Connection fee is owed unless the purchaser is a protected Western Horse Connection referral.
A buyer introduced through Western Horse Connection remains a protected referral for the defined referral period for horses purchased from that seller—not merely the first horse originally presented.
The Horses We Want to Know About
We are especially interested in finished, sensible horses whose training and experience can be difficult for Midwest buyers to find locally.
How the Relationship Works
Does it cost anything to join the seller network?
No. There is no membership or listing fee simply to become part of the Western Horse Connection seller network.
Do I have to give Western Horse Connection an exclusive listing?
No. You remain free to market and sell your horse through your existing channels. If the horse sells or becomes unavailable, we simply ask that you tell us promptly.
When do we determine Western Horse Connection’s fee?
Before a transaction moves forward with a qualified Western Horse Connection buyer, we agree in writing on your expected return and our fee.
What is a protected referral?
When Western Horse Connection introduces a buyer to your operation, that buyer remains a Western Horse Connection referral for the defined protection period. The protection applies to a horse purchased by that buyer from you during that period, not only to the first horse originally discussed.
What happens if I sell the horse to somebody else?
Nothing. You are free to sell your horse. Simply tell us that the horse is no longer available. No Western Horse Connection fee is owed unless the purchaser is one of our protected referrals.
Do you accept every seller and every horse?
No. The value of the network depends on trust. We are building relationships with sellers whose horses are honestly represented and whose standards fit what Western Horse Connection buyers are seeking.
